| An extension of our popular West Coast/ Kaikoura tour
that gives you a chance to take in the vineyards of Marlborough and
the magnificent coastal road north of Kaikoura.
This trip starts with a steady cycle along the rugged
West Coast, with views of the spectacular rainforest, Punakaiki rocks
and limestone cliffs.
After a climb through the Southern Alps and relaxing in
the geo-thermal springs of Maruia and Hanmer Springs, it’s on
to Kaikoura with its abundant sea life and the popular whale watching.
Then it’s along the beautiful Pacific Ocean coast, passing the
seal colonies that dot this spectacular coastline, as you head north
to Marlborough/ Blenheim.
You have a rest /cycle day in Blenheim giving you the
chance to sample wine/ food including the distinctive New Zealand Sauvignon
Blancs, before heading back to Christchurch on the Tranz Scenic train.
